    You will serve as the Director, Hydrographic Department at the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO).

    • You will reprogram and adjust resources and plans as necessary to meet rapidly changing technology, particularly regarding hydrographic/bathymetric data collection handling, formatting, display, and production.
    • You will manage the survey planning, preparation of survey specifications, and manning of hydrographic and bathymetric surveys, and the production and updating of data in support of Digital Nautical Charts, hydrographic and bathymetric products.
    • You will apply the latest automation techniques to the organization to increase production and reduce costs.
    • You will maintain effective relationships with a variety of groups interested in, or dependent upon, the Hydrographic Department's programs, and promotes interdependency across NAVOCEANO departments in support of overall mission accomplishment.
    • You will assess and manage the need for program support from various groups and organizations, in view of resource and public relation implications.
    • You will be responsible for direct and indirect supervision of over 100 scientific, technical, and administrative employees.
    • You will collaborate with heads of other units to negotiate, decide on, and coordinate work related changes affecting other units and NAVOCEANO mission goals or objectives.
