    You will serve as an Accounting Officer in the Financial Management, Code 335000 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

    • You will manage and administer NRL?s total financial accounting and cost accounting programs and related financial services functions, such as payroll liaison, travel claim processing, and asset management.
    • You will manage, lead, and supervise the personnel of the Accounting and Financial Services Branch, which includes professional accountants, financial management analysts, property management specialists/technicians and other support personnel.
    • You will plan the total accounting program by developing and issuing accounting guidance and advising NRL managers on the accounting aspects of the financial and business operations.
    • You will ensure that NRL accounting processes and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and that adequate internal controls are in place for all financial transactions.
    • You will ensure that invoices, vouchers, travel claims, inter-agency purchase agreements, and other financial transactions are expeditiously processed consistent with the Prompt Payment Act and other laws, rules, and regulations.
    • You will ensure that accounting transactions and costs are appropriately recorded and classified and that financial statements are prepared in the proper formats
