    Summary

    You will serve as a MANAGER in the ELECTROMAGNETIC ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS ASSURANCE BRANCH of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER DAHLGREN DIVISION (NAVSURFWARCENDLD). As the Branch Head, you will provide technical support, leadership, resource support, and mentorship to project leads, group leaders, and employees. You will be responsible for instituting system engineering processes and technical rigor according to official guidance.

    Responsibilities

    • You will advise and guide based on technical knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum, sensor systems, and knowledge of system engineering principles.
    • You will be responsible for developing coordinated/common testing, evaluation, assessment and analysis processes across the branch and division.
    • You will provide technical and operational knowledge to advise on interoperability issues associated with systems and integration of systems on ships.
    • You will provide technical and administrative leadership including strategic planning, task coordination, budget administration, resource management in a research and development environment.
    • You will plan, coordinate and influence projects managed by technical managers; work well in a teaming environment; and interact with senior managers, internal and external to the organization.
    • You will ensure project parameters (e.g., cost, schedule, risk, and performance) are tracked and managed and technical rigor is implemented within the branch.
    • You will perform supervisory duties to include coaching/mentoring, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution as well as approve personnel actions, e.g. travel, timecards, telework, leave, and overtime requests.
    • You will be responsible for the technical, financial, and administrative leadership of the branch.
