    This position is located at the Fargo VA HealthCare System, Nutrition and Food Service, in Fargo, ND. You will perform a variety of food service duties in support of Nutrition & Food and be responsible for accurate assembly, portioning, and garnishing of all items prepared in the salad and dessert preparation area.

    Major duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

      • Prepares salads, desserts, sandwiches, etc.;
      • Sets up and serves hot and cold food items;
      • Delivers and picks up food trays;
      • Assists patients in the selection of menu items according to their individual diets;
      • Covers and labels food for storage according to sanitation practices;
      • Works from guides to include tray tickets, production reports, menus, standard recipes, and employee task sheets;
      • Cleans and sanitizes food preparation surfaces, utensils, and equipment;
      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Work Schedule: Varies Sunday through Saturday, to include rotating holidays and weekends. Schedule determined upon hire, typical hours of 4:30 pm-7:30 pm or as needed per scheduling.
