    Summary

    Permanent (Career-Seasonal): This position issubject to release and recall procedures. Position includes all the benefits of permanent employment, but does not provide employment on a year-round basis. Selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks but no more than 6 months based on project requirements or weather conditions. The non-pay time for this position is expected to be for a two week period during the month of November.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the operation of the water treatment plants in the Canyon and South district, with progressive increases in responsibility through full performance level of primary and backup operator.
    • Assist in the operation of the wastewater treatment plants in the Canyon and South district, with progressive increases in responsibility through full performance level of primary and backup operator.
    • Perform routine maintenance and repair of water and sewer systems, including plumbing fixtures, service lines and valves, sinks, toilets, urinals, faucets, valves and traps.
    • During the winter season, other duties will be required, including operating snow blowers, shoveling roofs and sidewalks, janitorial duties, and other duties assigned by the district maintenance supervisor.
    • The incumbent will perform progressively more difficult assignments until the full performance level of WG-5406-09 is attained.
