As a , --, you will perform the following duties:
This position is located in the Army or Air National Guard. Its purpose is to provide services in support of inventory control, storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems.
-- For items centrally controlled, determines stock replenishment for supplies and other material within funding limitations. Assures that supplies and monies are not wasted through excess accumulations and that items are on hand in sufficient quantities and at the time required. In addition to established guides and formulas, determines quantities required and timely stock replenishment.
-- Maintains an accurate accounting and reporting system for property. Reviews justifications and recommends action for property not planned. Conducts limited management studies on the utilization of property. Reviews records and demands data for determination of obsolete or excess property. Offers recommendations for utilization of excess items. Prepares reports and documentation for transfer of excess items and locates surplus property that can be utilized.
-- Edits supply transactions or provides customer service for urgent critical shortage items and other items requiring special handling when established procedures are not applicable. Codes and classifies requisitions, shipping orders, and other documents; extracts requests to other sources of supply or refers them to inventory control point when stock is unavailable or cannot be shipped.
-- Determines stock replenishment for centrally controlled items. Assures items are in sufficient quantity and that supplies and funds are not wasted through excess accumulation. Uses established guides and formulas to determine quantities and timely stock replenishment. Analyzes data based on usage and seasonal demands.
-- Incumbent has inventory management responsibility for a relatively small number of items which are decentralized and controlled locally.
-- Performs other duties as assigned.
Military Requirements: Military skill set is determined by MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the MOS. Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Each applicant must fully substantiate (in his/her own words) that he/she meets the requirements of the Specialized Experience listed below: Otherwise, the applicant will be considered unqualified for this position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 6 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports. Experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
