    This position is located in the Methodology Division of the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Washington, D.C.

    In this position, you will perform mathematical statistical work that is complex and difficult. The work involves the application of mathematical statistical theories, techniques, and methods to quantified information.

    • Initiates, recommends and/or introduces new procedures for improving the survey estimates.
    • Participates in the preparation of technical instructions pertaining to the execution of surveys/censuses.
    • Adapts and, as appropriate, develops statistical theory, methods and procedures in connection with assigned studies which are, as applicable, related to the general area of agricultural surveys.
    • Researches, develops, and tests alternative sampling techniques to improve the efficiency and efficacy of surveys/censuses designs.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
