If selected for this position, you will serve as the Special Agent-in-Charge of Headquarters Operations. As such, will be responsible for managing and developing investigative activities involving the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) programs and operations; developing and ensuring the performance of the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) fraud prevention and detection mission through administration of the budget, policy, nationwide investigative initiatives and the Desk Officer program. You will be responsible for oversight of the DOT Hotline and the DOT OIG Case Management System and using both to develop innovative techniques for the detection of fraud, waste, and abuse in DOT programs. You will be responsible for maintaining continuing liaison with Federal, military, state, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure investigative continuity and coordination on matters of mutual interest; representing the agency in conferences, meetings, and work sessions with industry representatives, professional societies, and other governmental units and providing managerial direction and supervision to subordinate staff by assigning and reviewing work, interviewing and selecting candidates for vacancies, recommending promotions, awards, training, or disciplinary actions, as appropriate, and resolving informal employee complaints.
