    About the Position: Serves as the Senior Chemist as the Divisions and Design District's senior regional technical advisor and specialist on chemistry issues.

    • Evaluates and determines from a programmatic level the best sampling, handling, preservation, analytical methodology and data validity protocols
    • Revises and develops the chemistry aspects of the Division's guidelines pertaining to assigned environmental programs.
    • Provides technical quality verification, overview and direction to the contract commercial laboratories used for the support of Chemistry testing throughout the division.
    • Advises the contract commercial laboratory used for the support of Chemistry testing on performance of current testing procedures and provides technical advise to correct any deficiencies found.
    • Serves as a senior specialist on chemistry and geochemistry, providing expert technical guidance, advice, and assistance to districts in accordance with agency policies.
    • Oversees and evaluates technical data and text material to be used in correspondence, reports, analyses, presentations and memos related to environmental chemistry concerns.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Travel is required approximately 25% of the time.
