    About the Position:
    Army Public Health Center mission is to promote and prevent disease, injury and disability of Soldiers, military retirees, their Families and Department of the Army Civilian Employees; and assure effective execution of full spectrum veterinary services for Army and Department of Defense Veterinary missions.

    You will serve under the general direction of the Client Services Division Chief, as a Chemist/Physical Scientist with United States Army Public Health Center (USAPHC).

    Responsibilities

    • You will be responsible for the coordination of analytical chemistry projects and Public Health Programs.
    • Assisting with the coordination of laboratory sample analysis projects involving explosives, toxic gases, and other highly complex chemical materials.
    • You will use knowledge of environmental and industrial hygiene analytical chemistry principals to advise clients on the best sampling and analysis approach.
    • You will be responsible for recommending revisions to sampling and analytical policies and technical guides.
    • You will represent the organization, as a technical expert, at meetings and conferences.
    • You will recommend and/or coordinate the development and modification of sampling and analysis procedures for trace levels of pollutants of environmental and industrial hygiene health.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
