    This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) with one vacancy located in Miami, FL or St. Petersburg, FL.

    Responsibilities

    As a Supervisory Research Fish Biologist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Serve as the Deputy Director providing guidance, supervisory actions, and oversight for Divisions, Laboratories, and branches on scientific, Council services, and operations management.
    • Provide advice on the administration and fisheries management issues as a Senior Advisor and Representative to the South Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean Fishery Management Councils and Interstate Commissions.
    • Design and lead a fishery management research or policy analysis program advancing science and technology and promoting program results.
    • Maintain communication and cooperation within agencies and offices to develop efficient research programs and deliverables, cross-cutting activities, and educational outreaches.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, budget planning, formulation, execution and hiring activities, and performance management.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Up to 25% of domestic travel may be required.
