    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the Actuary (OACT), Parts C and D Actuarial Group (PCDAG).

    As a Actuary, GS-1510-14, you will serve as the technical expert for the modeling of Medicare and/or Medicaid program rates and estimates and analyze Medicare Advantage (MA) and Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit annual bids.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops estimation methodologies and models for historical and projected program operations and for proposed program changes.
    • Reviews and analyzes current professional literature and insurance and provider industry experience.
    • Provides authoritative actuarial consultation and advice on a wide range of program issues to other CMS and Government components.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert and may be called upon to serve as a team leader, assuming responsibility for the development of project planning, coordination of overall team efforts, and maintaining appropriate lines of communication.
    • Prepares correspondence on technical issues in response to public comments or requests for information on the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
