    Summary

    This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.

    You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEER in the Mission Planning and Execution Branch (W23), Sub-Orbital Vehicles Division (W20), White Sands Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in White Sands, NM. You will lead a team of project engineers that are responsible for Sub-Orbital Target Vehicle development through launch execution.

    Responsibilities

    • You will demonstrate detailed knowledge and expertise in managing acquisition, in-service engineering services, as well as test and evaluation for Navy and Joint programs.
    • You will be experience with Sub-Orbital Target Vehicle design: Monte Carlo Trajectory Analysis, gravimetric, structural analysis aerodynamic effects, telemetering systems, flight termination systems, flight software applications and attitude control.
    • You will focus in these key areas: System Requirements Assessments, Flight Performance of guided and unguided systems, vehicle interface definitions and management.
    • You will oversee target vehicle design efforts, resource planning, and process de-confliction, and budget development execution, while ensuring that system requirements and customer needs are understood, achievable, and met.
    • You will support risk management efforts, to include identification, mitigation planning and reporting.
    • You will be aware of summary expenses, requirements, and funds distribution to effectively cover direct and indirect costs.
    • You will provide detailed input to Contracting Officer Representatives for development of Statements of Work, Independent Government Cost Estimates and other contracting documentation.
    • You will as a supervisor, serve an essential role in providing equal employment opportunity (EEO) and is responsible for effecting and implementing EEO policy.
    • You will assign tasking to employees and develops and maintains performance plans, Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and associated training plans.
