    The incumbent serves as a Scanning/File clerk and is responsible for the receipt, intake, scanning, indexing, quality control,destruction, and transfer of health and administration information in the Health Information Management (HIM) section, Health Care Administration Service, at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Entering data into the medical record for direct and indirect patient care activities such as research, quality management, external peer reviews, and utilization reviews.
    • Manages the receipt and scanning of documents both internal and external to the medical center.
    • Ensures that all necessary health and administrative information is integrated into the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS)
    • Conducts information searches for reference materials.
    • Sorts a variety of loose documents daily and scans materials.
    • Makes administrative corrections to medical records.
    • Retrieve electronic documents and files, performs data entry, compose, edit, transmit and receive correspondence.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
