    What General Information Do I Need To Know About This Position?

    This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled as a Supervisory Hydrologist, GS-1315-15, Supervisory Chemist, GS-1320-15, Supervisory Geologist, GS-1350-15, or Supervisory Ecologist, GS-0408-15.

    In addition to the basic salary listed in the announcement, the incumbent of this position is also entitled to a cost of living allowance (COLA) of 10.64% for 2019.

    Responsibilities

    As a Center Director within the Pacific Island Water Science Center (PIWSC), some of your specific duties will include: 

    - Responsibility for all aspects of the leadership, administration, operation, and management of PIWSC.

    - Leads and develops collaborations with other USGS Science Centers, other Federal and State agencies, universities, Tribes, and non-governmental organizations. 

    - Plans, coordinates, executes, and manages broad, multi-disciplinary programs of research, inventory, monitoring and information management.

    - Plans and evaluates long-range programs and projects where issues and factors to be considered are largely undefined or controversial and therefore require extensive analysis to determine the nature and scope of the problems.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Overnight travel of up to 5 days per month may be required.
