Students enrolled or accepted for enrollment as degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) seeking students in an accredited high school or State approved home school, technical or vocational school, 2 or 4-year college or university or graduate or professional school, with at least a half-time course load. Must be in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or higher).
Applicants course of study/career focus must be in a business, Human Resource, communications, or public relations related fields.
Your transcripts MUST be submitted with your application package to be considered for this position.

Excepted Appointment Not-To-Exceed (NTE) one year, some appointments may be extended and/or may be converted to a term or permanent position; however, conversion is not mandatory or guaranteed. To be eligible for conversion, the Intern must have:
(1) Completed at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program, except as provided in paragraphs (c) and (d) of this section, while enrolled as a full-time or part-time, degree- or certificate-seeking
student

(2) Completed a course of academic study, within the 120-day period preceding the appointment, at a
qualifying educational institution
conferring a diploma, certificate, or degree;
(3)
Received
a favorable recommendation for appointment by an official of the
agency
or agencies in which the Intern served;
(4) Met the qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted; and
(5) Met
agency
-specific requirements as specified in the
agency
's
Participant Agreement
with the Intern.

Students will be evaluated based on a comparison of the quality and extent of their education as reflected in their resume against the requirements of available positions.

Education
Level of Education:
Applicants course of study/career focus must be in a business related or Human Resource related field.
NOTE: One full academic year of undergraduate; graduate; vocational; trades; technical or high school education is the number of credit hours determined by the college, university or school to represent 1 year of full-time study. One year of education is typically defined as two semesters (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours).
Copies of unofficial transcripts and proof of enrollment must be provided at the time of application to support your educational claims.
Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
Students will be evaluated based on a comparison of the quality and extent of their education as reflected in their resume against the requirements of available positions.
The Department of Energy uses an application tracking system to evaluate the responses you provide in the applicant assessment questionnaire to place you into an initial quality category via OPM's Category Rating procedures. Then, the HR Office and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) will conduct a quality review of your application and supporting documentation to ensure you have been placed into the appropriate quality category.
The quality categories are usually defined as "Best Qualified", "Well Qualified", and "Qualified", although they may differ slightly based on individual agency policy.
If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
