    About the Position: This is an Attorney-Adviser (General), GS-0905-14 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division (SWD), Little Rock District, and Office of Counsel. This position will be filled in Little Rock, AR.

    Responsibilities

    • You will serve as Trial Attorney or Agency Representative, representing the District in administrative hearings before mediators, arbitrators, investigators, and administrative judges from various agencies.
    • Provide legal advice, assistance, and support in all areas of labor and employment law to the Commander, Deputy Commander, and senior management officials.
    • Review changes to District personnel policies for legal sufficiency and labor relations implications.
    • Prepare pre-hearing briefs, and prepares necessary witnesses and exhibits for hearing; participates at the hearing as trial attorney or agency representative for and on behalf of the District.
    • Evaluate adverse decisions for possibility of appeal.
    • Render legal opinions by providing advice and representation as needed to Contracting Officers regarding a wide range of questions and issues relating to contract formation, contract administration, and contract disputes.
    • Conduct research in connection with cases to analyze factual and legal issues and to determine what additional facts are needed and what legal sources are applicable.
