The Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist serves as the Branch Chief for the Disclosure and Litigation Support Branch in the Legal Processing Division. The Branch receives and processes for public release of all Chief Counsel documents that are subject to the provisions of I.R.C. § 6110 or the Freedom of Information Act; provides assistance to attorneys on disclosure matters relating to PLR, TAM and CCA; and provides assistance to attorneys on Court of Federal Claims cases.

What is Procedure and Administration? The Associate Chief Counsel (Procedure and Administration) (PA) provides legal services relating to federal tax procedure and administration including legal issues arising out of the assessment and collection of federal taxes, bankruptcy, ethics, abatement, credits, refunds of federal taxes, judicial proceedings, and disclosure of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act matters.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade you will be trained to perform these duties. This list is not inclusive.

GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Knowledge of the disclosure requirements and restrictions of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts including the public release of documents subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), experience performing analytical assignments and experience working in an office or legal environment leading or supervising a staff which enabled the applicant to plan, direct, assign and review the work of a subordinate staff for technical accuracy. These examples are not all inclusive.
The experience may have been gained in the public, private sector, or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
