    The employee is assigned to the Planning and Construction Section (P&C), Engineering Service, at this VA Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio and is the designated Architect.

    The employee participates in engineering surveys, and initiates, formulates, and adapts design plans and specifications. The Architect independently gathers necessary architectural information and processes this information using recognized professional architectural techniques to accomplish established goals. Goals, objectives, and work assignments are set by the Planning and Construction Section Supervisor; however, technical accomplishment and methodology are accomplished independently. Provides original detailed drawings utilizing resident AutoCad computer system to provide the finished product.
    Initiates professional application of the physical sciences, pertinent calculations, and sound judgement in compliance with existing directives, codes, and precedents for new construction, modifications or alterations, additions to existing buildings, utility systems and building service equipment. Prepares cost estimates of materials, equipment, and labor and maintains a database to determine cost trends in the local construction market.
    Prepares drawings, layouts, and plans for proposed additions, improvements, alterations, modifications, and equipment installations, utilizing written specifications, photographs, sketches, and models. Prepares drawings of utility systems, roadways, parking lots, and landscaping in addition to structural requirements.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)
