The incumbent performs multiple, varying and complex assignments associated with the NAS. Independently evaluates the functional status of assigned subsystems, systems and facilities. Plans, coordinates and performs work with a high degree of independence. Resolves problems as they arise and makes adjustments as necessary to deal with system outages and performance deterioration. Demonstrates the ability to interpret, select and apply principles and practices related to the knowledge of scientific and engineering fields. Initiates action to install, repair or restore systems and services. Collaborates with system users, planners, engineers and contractor personnel in the installation and testing of new or modified systems and in identifying needed improvements or enhancements.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FV-G/Level II, or the equivalent of an FG/GS-11. Specialized experience is defined as experience in the FV-2101 occupation or in a related occupation, which equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. The specialized experience required should demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the technology, system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems.
Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position. Generally, experience at the next lower level of G/level II or equivalent, meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience provides the demonstrated abilities identified in this announcement.
