    Summary

    This position is located in the U.S. Department of Education, Office of the Secretary, Executive Secretariat Staff. This advanced developmental position performs a variety of analytic, research and coordination assignments related to the functions and operations of the Executive Secretariat. The incumbent performs analysis and advisory assignments related to the effectiveness of programs and/or the efficiency of the management of operations.

    As a Management and Program Analyst, GS-0343-11, you will:

    •  Identify procedural problems in program operations, using quantitative or qualitative methods.
    •  Conduct studies on operating programs, analyzes findings and makes recommendations in reports.
    •  Receive and dispose of a variety of inquiries, many from key officials in the Department, the White house, other agencies and the public.  Personally responds to questions and conveys the views and concerns of the Director.  Locate any requested information or channels the inquiry to other staff offices or program offices.
    •  Receive, acknowledge, and control incoming requests from the White House/Office of Management and Budget for Presidential Proclamations and other messages.
    •  Coordinate high-profile Secretary-level documents for Department-wide clearance.
