    The Principal Operations Inspector (POI) General Aviation Part 135 functions as the primary operations interface between assigned air carriers/air operators/air agencies/airmen/designees and the Federal Aviation administration. Has program responsibility to assure that assigned organizations meet Federal Aviation Regulations with respect to operations programs. Determines the need for, and then establishes work programs for surveillance and inspection of assigned organizations within manpower and budget limitations to assure adherence to the applicable regulations.

    The POI is responsible for reviewing and approving technical procedures and operator risk management and system safety programs with emphasis on emergency technology innovations. Identifies risks and assesses their overall criticality to safety. Inspectors must use considerable judgement in their safety and surveillance assessments for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARS). Provides advice and recommendations to district, regional and headquarters initiatives to increase safety of emergency medical service (EMS) operations.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.
