    Summary

    Serves as a UNIX Administrator in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (FS), Office of Information and Security Services, Operating Systems and Storage Division, Unix Branch with the primary responsibility to provide 24x7x365 technical support for all systems and services to support the FS enterprise UNIX infrastructures that host FS data and the data of its customers.

    Responsibilities

    As an IT Specialist (OS), you will:

    - Perform the installation, testing, maintenance, and upgrading of equipment and software supporting the enterprise UNIX hosting service provided within Fiscal Services data centers and secure areas

    - Perform incident and problem management associated with the enterprise UNIX infrastructure hosted within Fiscal Service data centers and secure areas.  This includes monitoring performance/availability, evaluating incidents/problems, and providing corrective actions to enterprise UNIX technology to resolve any system issues

    - Install the necessary enterprise UNIX hardware/software and configures the hardware/software to ensure the security, interoperability and interconnectivity to and from each component
