The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Participate in the management, maintenance, and customer support of a variety of HR systems (e.g., the HR Connect suite of systems, webTA, and the National Finance Center’s suite of systems.).
- Research and resolve customer support issues and system problems, identify deficiencies in and recommend changes to internal processes, configure systems to meet specific customer needs, conduct briefings and training sessions, and maintain security roles for HR staff.
- Perform routine maintenance in HR Connect for all franchise customers using the elevated global customer support role. This includes adding work locations, inputting proxy rights, removing shadow actions, and inputting CAOs.
- Act as a primary resource for routine front line staff questions. Assist with ensuring front line understanding of help desk processes and basic system functionality. Ensure appropriate front-line help desk coverage is maintained, set rotational assignments for mailbox coverage, and send ticket update reminders to front line staff.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience:
For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Experience assisting customers or internal employees with a variety of automated systems/software in support of an organization's program operation. OR
- Experience using human capital systems to generate reports, track or process actions.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 1 full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in an accredited college or university, OR have a bachelor's degree and meet one of the following requirements for superior academic achievement: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-05, you must have 3 years of general, progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-04 level in the Federal service, that demonstrates the ability to:
- Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; AND
- Plan and organize work; AND
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

You may substitute education for general experience as follows: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
OR
