    The position serves as a senior statistical consultant and analyst with the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Office of the Director, Division of Bacterial Diseases (DBD), in the Biostatistics Unit. The incumbent provides advanced statistical expertise and leadership for all current and proposed projects in the Division.

    As a Statistician (Health) you will:

    • Designing epidemiologic and laboratory research projects and analyzing data to evaluate the incidence and spread of bacterial pathogens.
    • Provide scientific consultative services on the design and management of the surveys and study designs.
    • Examine prepared reports and articles as part of the peer review process to ensure statistical soundness.
    • Initiate, formulate, plan and execute research projects pertinent to the Division, including both epidemiological and laboratory aspects in respiratory and meningococcal diseases prevention and control.
    • Apply and develop corresponding statistical methods.
    • Disseminate results of research projects to include publications, peer reviewed journals, summaries, manuscripts, and special reports.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel domestic and international 5% for this position.
