The Surgery Specialty Clinic/Ortho Surgical Integration Registered Nurse is a professional Registered Nurse (RN) who provides patient and family centered care that optimizes quality of life by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering according to the Scope and Standards of Practice Surgery Specialty Clinic/Ortho Surgical Integration Nursing:
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and/or the situation.
- Analyzes the assessment data to determine the patient's diagnoses or issues.
- Identifies in partnership with the interdisciplinary health care team, expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
- Develops a plan that defines strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Also act as an advocate at the Surgery Specialty Clinic/Ortho Surgical Integration care Team meetings, ensuring the continuum of care is addressed and readdressed based on the patient's needs.
- Implements the identified plan.
- Evaluates progress towards attainment of outcomes.
- Primarily responsible for physical care, including the patient's physical condition and comfort, yet must also possess some level of expertise in psychosocial and spiritual aspects of care, to address the patient and family form a holistic perspective.
- Performs an end-stage physical assessment, disease progression and pain and symptom management.
- Educates the patient and family regarding physical care, which includes such things as medication administration, equipment uses, skin care, nutrition, catheter care and transfers.

Work Schedule: 7:30am-4pm, 8am-4:30pm. 8:30am-5pm
