    Summary


    This position is located in the Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Office of Trade and Economic Analysis (OTEA), Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction for major divisions of important economic programs.

    Local Commuting Area: Current Federal employee you must work within 50 miles of the local commuting area.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducting policy oriented research in development of innovative approaches to existing and new problems in an economic field.
    • Maintaining and ensuring the quality of OTEA's data and information resources.
    • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of analytical reports produced by OTEA and the Office of Trade Policy and Analysis.
    • Providing technical, statistical and analytical assistance to Industry and Analysis and other units in the International Trade Administration.
    • Preparing international trade and economic background and briefing materials for senior executive officials to use in policy development and promulgation.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
