    BLM is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the seasonal team to serve as an Forestry Technician for the Western Montana District Office in Missoula, Montana. Information about the Missoula area can be found at Missoula Chamber of Commerce.

    Responsibilities

    Forestry Aids and Technicians collect forest and woodland management data regarding location, character, extent, volume, rate of growth, and quality of timber. Inspects and reports on timber sale areas to determine compliance with contract requirements. Mark and designates timber to be removed in timber sales or for use disposals. Collects information for, and prepares necessary reports on, forest and woodland trespass cases.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel to the field will be required. The amount of overnight travel to be determined by the nature of the work.
