    The Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist (BESS) provides clinical and administrative support to staff, patients, and administrators for all matters of concern relating to the facility wide lifecycle management of medical equipment. Biomedical support requires the application of engineering and mechanical concepts and methodology to provide lifecycle management and technical support of diagnostic, therapeutic devices, monitoring.

    Responsibilities

    The Engineering Service of the VA North Texas Healthcare System (VANTHCS) is seeking three Biomedical Equipment Support Specialists (Critical Care/Lab Section) for our Biomedical Engineering Section at the Dallas Hospital in VISN 17. The Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist reports to the Supervisory, Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist and provides clinical and administrative support to staff, patients, and administrators for all matters of concern relating to the facility wide lifecycle management of medical equipment. Duties will include maintenance of medical equipment found in critical care areas, including ICUs, ORs, wards, and Laboratory areas, etc.


    Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, alternate work schedule may be available.
