    This position is located in the Voice of America's, East Asia and Pacific Division, Mandarin Service's New York Bureau. The incumbent serves as a TV Production Specialist and is responsible for the flawless on-air execution of Mandarin television programs, including the production of high quality packages.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Communicates vital program/production information such as satellite placement, requests for studio facilities and coordination with set and graphic designers as well as technical and show directors and writers.

    Provides input into the Mandarin Service's television programs in a range of formats such as newscasts, news feeds, live interactive discussions, feature programs, documentaries, journalist roundtables, and others.

    Views all visual materials including opens, closes, bumpers, roll-in packages, graphics and Chyron information to confirm air worthiness.

    Works with the Executive Producer to resolve the administration and logistical details of a production, providing input into planning and organizing story production, assessing potential technical needs for programming, and advising a variety of technical specialists.

    Shoots cuttable sequences of broadcast-quality digital video and audio. Prepares highly original and complex scripts.

    Serves as field reporter by researching, writing, editing original news or feature stories.
