    This position is located in the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC), Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering (RACE) Division with one vacancy in Kodiak, AK.

    As a Fish Biologist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Maintain laboratory cultures of organisms; Conduct laboratory experiments including data collection and analysis assignments to support stock assessment of federally managed ground fish and crab species in Alaska.
    • Collect data at sea during assessment surveys and individual research projects.
    • Prepare equipment and conduct logistics planning & execution for field work on commercially important crab species.
    • Contribute to staff presentations involving research projects at management related meetings and/or scientific venues; Assist in publishing research findings in reports and/or in peer-reviewed journals.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Incumbent will spend up to 60 days a year at sea. Travel will be less than 10% of time.
