These positions are in the Bargaining Unit. These positions require up to 40% travel.
Travel expenses associated with interview and/or relocation expenses associated with job offer will be paid.

The successful candidate will serve as a senior inspector to conduct radiation protection inspections of operating light water reactor facilities, in accordance with the NRC inspection manual; inspections of decommissioning reactor and/or materials facilities and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations (ISFSI). You may also perform and coordinate radiological and environmental protection licensing of varied facilities using byproduct, source and/or special nuclear materials. Investigates and evaluates the most difficult occurrences with radiological safety significance.
Such duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform a wide variety of lead duties associated with planning and conducting inspections of operating reactor facilities, decommissioning reactor facilities, ISFSI and/or facilities using byproduct, source and/or special nuclear materials.
- Initiate enforcement action with regional management approval when inspection findings indicate a significant violation of the license or NRC rules and regulations.
- Prepare inspection reports to document whether the facility is operating safely, the licensee's management control program is effective, and regulatory requirements are being met.
- Serve as a mentor and coach in the development of new inspectors, providing guidance to new employees and inspectors undergoing the qualification process.
