PACT Specialty Advanced MSA
The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model. The AMSA coordinates with the patient care team to review clinic utilization using various reports to ensure that the clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic and make necessary adjustments. They develop/maintain effective and efficient communication with the patient, interdisciplinary team, VA medical centers, and other agencies; facilitate/process secure messaging with the patient and team; notify patients of normal lab results; develop and manage a tracking system for follow up care.
Non VA Care Coordination Consults (Fee Basis) Advanced MSA
Scheduling of Non-VA medical appointments when services are not available or cannot be provided cost effectively at a VA facility. Coordinates with the private sector to authorize and schedule care. Clinical documentation management, correspondence to the veteran and non VA providers, tracking of pre and post appointment follow-ups. Receives consult requests for long-term and short-term authorization of outpatient fee basis non-VA care. Reviews medical information to determine type of treatment necessary, extent of treatment, estimated costs of non-VA care and adequacy of medical information presented.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 to 4:30 or as agreed upon with the possibility of extended hours and weekends.
NOTE: Candidates must be willing to work weekends, irregular work hours and extended hours. The candidate must be willing to be assigned to other related services and/or locations, if necessary.
