    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will lead the National Training and Education System as a Branch Chief . Typical assignments include: 

    • Leading the implementation of the National Training and Education System (NTES).
    • Leading the coordination with the training community to determine the appropriate development and delivery methods, options and courses provided to local, regional/metropolitan, state, tribal, territorial, and Federal whole community homeland security/ emergency management professionals.
    • Overseeing budget and staffing requirements
    • Determining national training and education requirements by overseeing the analysis of Stakeholder Preparedness Review SPR results, Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments, the National Preparedness Report, after-action reports, and other appropriate resources.
    • Representing the NTED Director at meetings, negotiates with key officials within and outside FEMA on considerations within the area of preparedness training and education program capabilities, exercising authority to speak for and commit the Division to specific actions within the bounds of Agency policies and priorities of the Division’s Director.  Also acts as liaison to executive and congressional and level inquiries.
