    About the Position: The Lead Contract Specialist will be responsible for cradle to grave contract and assistance execution functions in the Contracting Office of the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC).

    Responsibilities

    • As a Lead Contract Specialist you will be responsible for acquisition pre-award/post-award functions including price/cost analysis/negotiation and administration for services, materials and equipment associated with research, development, test.
    • You will develop announcements and solicit bids and proposals; evaluate the quality of bids and proposals in terms of costs, technology, market conditions, and reliability of performance; negotiates terms; and execute contract/assistance award.
    • You will administer contracts/agreements to assure that the terms are met, and that goods and services are delivered in accordance with the schedule, specifications and award requirements.
    • Track and manage the day-to-day workload of your team.
    • Provide daily customer support as a business advisor.
    • Review and execute the work products of the Contract Specialists on your team.
    • Mentor, coach, and train both vertically and horizontally within the organization.
    • Required to execute any acquisition type that the organization has the express authority to execute; this may include, but is not limited to, contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and Other Transactions.
