    This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration, National Center for Toxicological Research, Division of Biolnformatlcs and Biostatistics which is focused on using in silica approaches to solve problems that have a detrimental effect on human health. Studies are conducted to identify important translational biomarkers and pathways of responses that provide predictive, diagnostic, and prognostic value in both the preclinical testing of compounds and the management of patients.

    • Design and develop scientific and management software applications.
    • Apply scientific computing techniques to computationally intensive tasks that are encountered in research and management applications
    • As a technical expert and senior member of a team of computer scientists and engineers that design, develop and/or modify existing software to help solve routine, novel, and difficult scientific computing problems.
    • Computing problems involve prototype database development, web and mobile applications, modeling and simulation, and data display and presentation.
    • Investigate and evaluate the suitability of specific software components for particular assignments.
    • Lead and/or participate in conferences and meetings of professional groups concerned with the application of software development and computer technologies.
    • Prepare software documentation, technical reports and presentations related to assigned projects.
