    A successful candidate in this position will plan, control, organize and coordinate the total program efforts. Provide invaluable opinion, analyses and staff support based upon in-depth knowledge of a wide range of energy, economic and environmental conditions and issues and their political and social implications relating to foreign countries, and other assigned areas within the office purview.

    As an International Relations Specialist, you will:

    • Serve as IA/DOE representative regarding U.S. participation in cooperative efforts between DOE and foreign counties/multilateral organizations in the areas of energy security, economic competitiveness and global environmental initiatives related to assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Provide technical advice to senior officials within the department and other U.S. Government entities regarding energy policy in foreign countries.
    • Establish key objectives, strategies and outcomes for bilateral and multilateral energy consultations, organizing the agenda and U.S. participants, preparing position, issue and background papers, and disseminating the results to Departmental and other agency senior officials.
    • Be responsible for the planning, controlling, organizing and coordinating the total program efforts through superior analytical and written and oral communication.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - This position may require you to travel outside the normal duty station approximately 25% of time
