    As an Physical Scientist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Serve on the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R (GOES-R) Data Operations Support Team (DOST) and the Product Readiness and Operations (PRO) team to support the development and execution of test goals and success criteria to verify pre-launch operational readiness of the product generation and distribution systems.
    • Support the roadmap and strategy for geostationary legacy product transition to GOES-R products and services, including blended and merged satellite derived geostationary products.
    • Support the end to end testing and execution of various GOES-R Product Generation and Product Distribution systems.
    • Collaborate with the Environmental Satellite Process Center (ESPC) Help Desk and User Services team to respond to customer inquiries and issues user notifications regarding the status and availability of NESDIS satellite products and services, with focus on GOES-R series satellite data and products.
    • Prepare and present verbal briefings and written papers for management decisions to define, implement, and defend organizational policies and positions to internal and external stakeholders.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Up to 10% of Domestic and Foreign travel may be required.
