    The purpose of the position is to serve as a scientist in the evaluation of public health issues or health hazards. As a program evaluator, the incumbent conducts a systematic assessment of a program or project's inputs, activities and outputs to determine its value or worth and to improve the program.

    As a Health Scientist, you will:

    • Design, oversee, implement, and conduct major scientific surveys/studies or projects to identify and solve public health programs.
    • Identify and analyze public health issues and their impact on operations that are critical to the public health community at large
    • Develop and use innovative methodologies and techniques.
    • Provide technical advice and assistance to national, state and local health agencies and to various other organizations.
    • Lead collaboration on programs/projects/studies and coordinates efforts, as appropriate, with other CDC Centers, Institutes and Offices, other governmental and non-governmental organizations, and private and non-profit organizations, etc.
    • Prepare scientific and other articles and technical reports for publication.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. 10% Domestic.
