The employee serves as the Senior Information Technology Specialist, within the Bureau of Fiscal Service (FS), Information and Security Services (ISS), Infrastructure Management (IMD), Data Center Branch.
As an IT Specialist, you will:
- Serve as the Fiscal Service expert regarding the Bureau's IT communications infrastructure at all Data Center and centralized computing and telecommunication center locations, and as such, interfaces with senior Fiscal Service, Treasury, Federal Reserve and franchise customer personnel on matters relating to this area.
- Serve as Fiscal Service's expert in the areas associated with computing facility security design and related enterprise architecture and managing the operations of all environmental controls (electric, temperature, humidity, etc.) for all communications closets, switch rooms, and data centers.
- Engineer and propose new designs for Fiscal Service for all server and networking architecture within the Data Center to meet Presidential, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and Departmental requirements. Defend those designs when scrutinized by agency and bureau heads and their staff. Once successfully defended, builds and maintains the architecture to designed specifications. Ensure the architecture successfully meets or exceeds the functionality and security specifications required.
Occasional travel - 1-5 nights per month.
