    This position is located in the Global Intellectual Property Academy (GIPA), Office of Policy and International Affairs (OPIA), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

    The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Serving as expert technical advisor and consultant with respect to video teleconferencing, audiovisual equipment and systems, and visual information media. 
    • Producing and editing video recordings of programs and classes and makes them available on-line. 
    • Maximizing the capabilities of a variety of commonly accessible media to make information and training available to the targeted audience.  
    • Analyzing and validating audio/visual needs for teleconferencing and distance learning events.
    • Determining the equipment needs for each session and coordinates with contractor employees to obtain, configure, and set up everything required. 
    • Assuring equipment is in working order and assures all connections are in place.  
    • Staying abreast of the latest technological advances, evaluating new innovations and ensuring compatibility of these capabilities to identified requirements. 
    • Drawing on basic knowledge of information technology to respond to routine questions and provide basic assistance; recognizing complex issues and reporting to OCIO staff for resolution.
