    Summary

    The Chief Information Office (CIO) manages the Information Resources environment for the Forest Service. This position responsible for facilitating the coordination with field and Forest Service leadership for all information technology infrastructure, business applications, and information management services.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and install applications, software, and hardware for numerous operating systems.
    • Identify system problems that are of an unusual or complex nature and develops corrective action.
    • Design data products, processes and programs that enhance functional area management and provide for increased organizational optimization of IT processes and procedures.
    • Identify corrective or preventative procedures and takes actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences.
    • Manage installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensure system integrity is not compromised.
    • Coordinate and implement policy and procedures for hardware and software applications system operation.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Some occasional travel 2 - 3 times a year for training.
