    About the Position: Ft Hood is nicknamed The Great Place because of the quality of life the post and area offer Soldiers and their families. Ft Hood covers a total of 340 sq miles and rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas, between Killeen and Copperas Cove.

    This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Post-Secondary Students and Recent Graduates.

    Responsibilities

    • Administer principles of related engineering fields such as electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, etc. to perform mechanical engineering projects.
    • Review written considerations for new policy developments, changing technology, and new mechanical engineering techniques during construction.
    • Conduct studies to improve the operation of utility systems and conveying systems such as equipment layouts, system networks, and production methods.
    • Ensure mechanical engineering principles are used in planning, designing of the utility systems such as (i.e. heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, nurse call, fire protection, plumbing, and elevators.
    • Serve as a member of the Facility Management team, Project Management Branch to provide mechanical engineering support Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.
    • Perform office and field mechanical engineering duties associated with the design layout of the mechanical building systems in accordance with standard building practice.
