This position is located in the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's Human Resources Department (HRD), Staffing and Classification Division (SCD).
This position serves as an Understudy to the current division manager. To ensure a successful transition, if selected, you will shadow the current incumbent. Once the incumbent vacates the position, assuming that you are eligible at that time for promotion, you will transition into it at the GS-15 grade level without further competition.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT (S):
Time-In-Grade Requirement: In order to be eligible for this position, all current Federal employees must provide proof of meeting the time-in-grade requirement (i.e., at least 52 weeks of experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service). This information must be in both your resume and on an SF-50. Those who do not provide proof of having met the time-in-grade requirement will be deemed ineligible for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the private sector managing and leading Human Resources Specialists in the operational areas of recruitment and staffing, position classification, and position management operations for a Federal organization.
Examples may include: managing or directing a Federal recruitment/staffing and Federal position classification/management operation; developing and executing a recruitment strategy for technical and/or professional positions; preventing and/or remediating audit findings related to recruitment and classification; working with special hiring authorities such as: Schedule A, VEOA, VRA and other Excepted Service appointments; interpreting Federal position classification standards; developing performance standards and evaluations of staff; planning, organizing, and directing team efforts related to recruitment/staffing and position classification/management.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement, applicant must meet the Selective Placement Factor listed below.
