    About the Position: Serves as a museum specialist in the Third Cavalry Museum which also includes history of Fort Hood. Make assignments to military personnel assigned to the museum and provides general instructions to volunteer helpers. Furnishes information to visitors.

    • Facilities are comprised of approximately 2500 square feet of inside display area, and 6,000 different artifacts and display items Insures proper care, protection, and security for items housed. Instructs in work methods and procedures.
    • Serves as the museum's technical authority in the field of cavalry history, which is one of the main functional areas of the museum.
    • Prepares written answers to inquiries from other museums, researchers, and the general public concerning exhibits, items of the collection, or privately owned items of importance to the Cavalry specialty.
    • Identifies rare and unusual items; compiles bibliographic data; and investigates, collects, and validates historical information within this specialty.
    • Possesses an extensive Knowledge of this specialization and is assigned particular responsibility for the identification, documentation, cataloging, preservation, proper display, and security of museum holdings.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - YBusiness travel maybe required 10% of the time.
