The Deputy Director of the Policy and Analytics Branch is responsible for identifying, developing and/or monitoring policy initiatives for the supervision and resolution of the LCFIs that are under the purview of CISR. The incumbent is directly responsible for policy matters made specifically applicable to these entities under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (DFA), and implementing FDIC Rules and Regulations, as well as for broad supervisory and risk assessment policy involving CISR's efforts to ensure appropriate backup supervision of the institutions under its purview. The incumbent will also work closely with the policy offices of the divisions of Risk Management Supervision, Resolutions and Receiverships, Depositor and Consumer Protection, Insurance and Research, and others regarding supervisory and resolution matters of general applicability that may affect those institutions for which CISR has oversight and resolution responsibility. The incumbent will also oversee the development and implementation of quantitative analytical tools for risk and resolution monitoring, reporting, and analysis.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
In order to qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience in a government agency (equivalent in the federal government to CG/GS-15 or above) or private industry. Specialized experience is defined as experience in each of the following areas: leading or playing a principal role in analyzing and developing domestic and international financial institution regulatory policy; recommending policy reform initiatives; coordinating public policy implementation efforts with domestic and foreign authorities; and developing analytics to support public policy development and issue identification. This experience must have provided the individual with an in-depth knowledge of the legislative, regulatory, and operational complexities related to the supervision and resolution of large, complex financial institutions (LCFI).
Large, complex financial institutions may be defined as financial intermediaries engaged in some combination of commercial banking, investment banking, asset management and insurance, whose failure poses a systemic risk or externality to the financial system as a whole. These risks are intertwined among both insured and uninsured subsidiaries, and the largest and most complex of these companies often have global footprints and interdependent counterparty relationships with one another that increase their complexity and risk.
