The Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services which support the Hematology/Oncology section of Medical Service within VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS). In addition to staff pharmacist duties, the Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will serve as the clinical pharmacy consultant in the area of Hematology/Oncology.

Note: This is a TEMPORARY - INTERMITTENT appointment. An intermittent employee may not be scheduled for employment which will exceed 1820 hours or seven-eighths of full-time employment during a service year. (See VA Directive and Handbook 5007, Pay Administration). This position may be converted to a full-time permanent position without further competition.
Salary: The salary posted on this announcement is for a full-time work schedule of 80 hours per pay period. Actual salary will be pro-rated based on actual hours worked.

The clinical pharmacist is responsible for analyzing real and potential drug-related medical problems and implementing corrective action to ensure that patients receive optimal drug therapy. The clinical pharmacist also applies standards relating to all aspects of distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and provides direct patient counseling to Veterans receiving medications at the pharmacy.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 hour shifts between 7:30am - 5:00pm
