    Responsibilities

    • Incumbent serves as a professional engineer in a Contract Management Office (CMO) of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
    • Performs a variety of engineering functions while conducting systems engineering surveillance including research, design, development, test and production; and monitoring contractor engineering management systems.
    • Performs a variety of engineering functions while conducting systems engineering surveillance including providing technical recommendations on substantive changes in any of the above areas.
    • Applies the DCMA engineering surveillance performance indicators to assess the contractor's performance and provide feedback to the Chief Engineer (CE).
    • Prepares, provides, and evaluates documentation regarding specific engineering and manufacturing questions requiring resolution.
    • Incumbent performs work in accordance with agency policies and standard operating procedures for effective contract administration of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisitions.
    • Plans, executes, and documents surveillance of contractor design, development, and production efforts at contractor facilities on behalf of the CMO.
    • Implements contract surveillance with regard to Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering techniques and utilizes the DoD acquisition enterprise.
    • Conducts Contract Receipt and Review (CRR) functions related to contract cost, schedule performance, and compliance to Request for Proposals (RFP) for buying activities and DCMA elements.
    • Evaluates contractor manufacturing and design processes for implementation of engineering best practices.
    • Evaluates contractor and subcontractor engineering hardware systems for design, development, production, and test efforts in accordance with contract terms.

    Occasional travel - Official travel is required 10% of the time.
