This position is to serve as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant, for Outpatient Clinical Support in the VA New England Healthcare System, at the Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Burlington, VT, or Brattleboro, VT, or Rutland, VT. The incumbent is responsible for a wide range of assignments and provides administrative support to the Sections. Work is performed collaboratively in a Interdisciplinary Coordinate Care delivery model (Patient Aligned Care Team, or Specialty Care Setting).

The Advanced MSA will collect and update insurance information from Veterans, family members and other eligible patients, screen/receive phone calls in a courteous and timely manner, determine the nature of request and provide the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes, enter Veterans seeking emergent/urgent care, scheduling appointments accurately, ensure that all appropriate VA forms are used correctly and regulations followed.
