Responsible for the administration and management of the Billeting Fund facilities maintenance program to include planning, repairing and maintaining equipment in support of lodging activities. Provides administrative and management analysis for leadership in the Transient Housing Department. Acts as primary point of contact with Base on maintenance matters.
Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity. Prepares internal office reports. Implements necessary corrective actions on any noted deficiencies. Ensures required repairs are accomplished in a timely manner. Performs clerical and record keeping tasks as required for maintenance controls and analysis. The incumbent will ensure that monthly inventories are conducted, that reorder requests are prepared and submitted to the appropriate Supply Supervisor for expendable materials and supplies held in stock. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives, and exercises internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the higher-level supervisor with regard to subordinates. Directly supervises employees. Counsels and trains employees, schedules and directs work, appraises work performance. Approves or disapproves leave, and personnel actions. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.
Performs and supervises a variety of maintenance work involving various trade skills. Applies and demonstrates accepted methods, techniques, and applications common and complex to the various trades. Performs light maintenance on air conditioning units and intermediate maintenance on equipment in the facility. Performs replacement of basic networking equipment for Wi-Fi. Conducts safety inspections on vehicles. Responsible for grounds maintenance, including landscaping. Ability to develop a preventive maintenance plan. Makes plumbing repairs that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units of utility, supply, and disposal systems, such as dirty traps, sections of broken tile, damaged or broken pipes, leaky faucets, and stopped up drains. Performs standard painting techniques; coating methods such as brushing, rolling and spraying, by the use of coating materials that are prepared according to specific directions, and by the application of coating techniques that insure surfaces are fully coated, protected,

EVALUATIONS:
A minimum of three years of experience that demonstrates knowledge in applying the principles, methods, techniques and theories of maintenance to oversee the management and administration of government facilities. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Knowledge of work methods and practices of various building trades. Knowledge of pertinent safety, occupational health and environmental regulations. Knowledge of lodging preventative maintenance procedures is a plus. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred. Must possess sufficient knowledge relating to supply accounting, storage, inventory, posting and issuance of expendable materials and supplies. Work is performed both inside and outside, incumbent is exposed to dirt, paint vapors and fumes, possible electric shock, scrapes, burns and cuts. Lifts, carries, and sets up materials and equipment. Requires prolonged standing; stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance.
